Stop and Frisk in Four Cities: The Importance of Open Police Data

In most recent years, data collected during “stop and frisk” encounters has shown that “some police departments have misused the practice and, in doing so, violated the constitutional rights of some citizens.” This has, inevitably, affected more racial groups than others. This article stresses the impact of ensuring that police data is “disseminated in a form usable to the public.”
