Sustainable Jersey is an organization which offers Garden State municipalities certifications in environmental sustainability. Through its certification process, these communities gain access to tools, information, training and finance to help them create healthier environments. Since 2009, the organization has certified 171 cities and towns across the state, out of a total 417 municipalities who are registered with the organization.
Recently, Sustainable Jersey has given $20,000 grants to cities such as Camden, Linden, and Lawrence Township, for new sustainability ordinance, restoration projects, and a recycling program, respectively.
