This research study found that interactive visualizations “held higher potential for drawing in and maintaining audience interests.” On the other hand, static visualizations are “more useful for users wishing to gain a more detailed understanding of the data,” suggesting that a combination of the two kinds of visualizations may best serve the needs of diverse audiences.
