Online discussion

This is a funder-only discussion.

With the ongoing protests seeking racial justice in our communities, especially in concern for victims of excessive police force, local journalism needs our support more than ever.

We are grateful for the many ways that journalists and filmmakers and community advocates, with support from media philanthropy, are lifting up their voices and shining a light on injustice. Already there are some dedicated funds to address the racial equity gap in American journalism, such as the Racial Equity in Journalism Fund at Borealis Philanthropy. But much more needs to be done.

Please join us for a funder-only discussion on these pressing issues.

This discussion is an opportunity for you to share what your organization is doing and learn about collaborative efforts from your peers. The agenda will be constructed by you. If you’d like to share something, let us know and we’ll add you to the queue. Email MIF director of development & member engagement Courtney Eshleman courtney@mediafunders.org.

Funders you’ll hear from include representatives from:

  • Borealis Philanthropy
  • Lenfest Institute
  • New Media Ventures
