Please note: This is a funder/donor-only gathering.

Are you heading to the Sundance Film Festival? We’d love it if you’d join us and your peers for a gathering to discuss your work, your priorities, and collaborations in the field from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. MT on Friday, Jan. 24, at the Miners Club, 4070 Willow Draw Park City, UT 84098.

Whether it’s your first time at Sundance, or you’re a seasoned pro, this film funder gathering is designed for you to learn about new projects and network with your colleagues. And we’re really passionate about giving you ample time to make the connections you need to help strengthen your work, and the field.

In addition to sharing your organization’s 2020 priorities, we’ll be presenting our new report on media impact assessment, written by MIF research consultant Katie Donnelly. We’ll engage in a discussion with Donnelly, co-founder and director of Learning & Impact at Dot Connector Studio, Holly Gordon, chief impact officer of Participant Media, and Sonya Childress, director of partnership and engagement at Firelight Media.

We’ll also learn about the Brand Foundation Alliance (BFA), which combines the efforts of like-minded funder organizations and corporations to create impactful work that results in positive global change. BFA members meet to discuss best practices, share information on projects and celebrate the best work in the impact media space.

Sandy Herz, director of global partnerships at the Skoll Foundation and member of the Media Impact Funders Board of Directors, serves on the steering committee for BFA, and will share more details about BFA. Paolo Mottola, director of Content & Media at REI, will talk about the company’s interest in collaborations for creating impact through film, and best practices for brand storytelling.
