This month’s MIF network meeting featured a discussion with Luminate’s Kristel Muciño, Cinereach’s Candice McFarlane, and Common Era’s Yonah Schiller on how philanthropy can strategically engage in the public-benefit entertainment space.
We talked about what public-benefit entertainment is, why it matters, and how funders can use it to advance mission and impact and explored entry points across the creative ecosystem, from supporting artists and production to narrative strategy, distribution and impact measurement.
To close out the call, we heard from Arij Mikati, Vice President of Programs at the Pillars Fund, who shared an overview of how the fund supports media that spans storytelling, fellowships, and the upcoming launch of its new Journalism Lab and Fellowship program.
