Joining the MIF network connects you to hundreds of engaged, like-minded funders and organizations working together to use media to promote the common good. As members, you will be supported by valuable resources—programs, webinars, in-person events, research and more—that encourage the most effective use of media to achieve your philanthropic and programmatic goals, and to understand and maximize the impact of your media work.
Our members include some of the largest foundations in media funding, local and regional foundations, and individual donors and high-net worth individuals.
Established in 2002, the Libra Foundation’s three main funding priorities are women’s rights, environmental justice, and social justice and drug policy. We’ve encountered a few of the foundation’s grantees throughout our travels, including WITNESS, the human-rights platform that trains people to document their experiences; #Cut50, the program led by CNN commentator Van Jones that seeks to reduce the prison population; and 350.org, the grassroots organizer whose founder, Jamie Henn, spoke at one of our Frank funder gathering last year.
