Published in 2022 after the mainstream media sector experienced a massive increase in misinformation and disinformation in science and health reporting, this report maps the state of the science journalism field and offers an evidence-based framework to help funders of science journalism achieve better impact.

Through a dual methodology analysis of the Pulitzer Center’s Connected Coastline initiative, the report identifies five recommendations that speak to both best practices for the overall science journalism field and best practices for story design.
