First published in 2014, the Impact Field Guide is a benchmark impact resource for documentary film and social impact media. This updated, interactive version supports filmmakers and nonprofits working on projects you’re supporting, while also helping funders think about the impact of their own storytelling and portfolios.

The guide is divided into five chapters—Your Film, The Campaign, The Team, Distribution, and Measuring Impact—offering original curricula on impact and evaluation frameworks for diverse project stakeholders. An extensive library of case studies, research, articles, and a directory of organizations working in the field complement the guide.

Use This Guide To:

  1. Craft an impact campaign for your content or content you’re funding.
  2. Learn about the different skills and stakeholders necessary for launching a successful impact campaign, and identify which roles you might occupy.
  3. Access an impact-focused database of research and potential partners for your work
