Documenting Impact: Clips and conversation featuring Command and Control
When: Nov. 7, 2017 | Noon-1 p.m. ET
At a time when the world is pondering the terrifying possibility of a nuclear war with North Korea, a conversation about America’s nuclear weapons program seems more relevant than ever before.
On Nov. 7, join us from noon-1 p.m. ET for in-depth conversations about Command and Control, which chronicles a deadly accident at a missile complex in Damascus, Ark., in 1980. The film gives viewers a glimpse into the chilling truth about the management of America’s nuclear arsenal.
The conversation will include a Q&A with Eric Schlosser, the author of the book by the same name, Command and Control director Robert Kenner, and Emma Belcher, director of the Nuclear Challenges program at the MacArthur Foundation, and Erika Gregory, Director of N Square, an initiative designed to stimulate innovation in nuclear disarmament, nonproliferation and safety and security. (N Square is funded by MacArthur Foundation, Carnegie Corporation, Hewlett Foundation, Ploughshares Fund and the Skoll Global Threats Fund.) Vince Stehle, executive director of Media Impact Funders, will lead the discussion. We hope you’ll attend this important conversation.
This event is co-sponsored by the Peace and Security Funders Group.
