As we all continue to grapple with distance learning and making and keeping virtual connections with kids and families during the pandemic, join Early Childhood Funders Collaborative and Media Impact Funders for this discussion on the impact of media and video on young children, with an eye on equity.

Rachel Barr, of the Georgetown University Early Learning ProjectTerry Harak, of the Youth Law Center, and Ellen Roche from the Trust for Learning will join us to discuss:

  • Recent research on video interactions between young children and grandparents.
  • Lessons from systems and settings that rely on video interaction between kids and families even in non-pandemic times (justice facilities, foster care, military families).
  • Key takeaways around how children can optimally learn from video / media with a focus on relationships and social emotional learning, and how we can use those lessons to keep and improve virtual connections with kids and families beyond the pandemic.

Hosted in collaboration with:

Early Childhood Funders Collaborative.
